About Spark Fitness
Spark Fitness was created to provide a supportive and structured approach to strength training.
Many people want to get stronger and healthier but feel unsure where to start, especially if they’re new to the gym or returning after time away. Spark Fitness focuses on removing that uncertainty by providing clear guidance, progressive training, and practical lifestyle support.
Through personalised programs, strength-focused training, and simple nutrition guidance, clients develop the knowledge and confidence to train effectively while building sustainable habits that last.
My Story
I’m Joe, the founder of Spark Fitness and a personal trainer based in Central Auckland. I help people build strength, improve their health, and feel more confident in the gym through structured, progressive training.
My interest in fitness began as a teenager when my older brother first introduced me to weight training. What started as curiosity quickly became a long-term passion for strength, discipline, and personal development.
Before moving into coaching, I spent seven years serving in the British Army’s Royal Logistic Corps. During my time in the military I also discovered boxing and competed as an amateur fighter. Those experiences shaped the values that guide my coaching today — consistency, structure, and resilience.
Now based in Auckland, I work with clients across Mt Eden, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Mt Albert, Three Kings, Westmere and Sandringham. My focus is helping people train safely, build strength progressively, and develop habits that support long-term health and confidence.
